Coroner's Concerns
During the course of the inquest the evidence revealed matters giving rise t0 concem: In my opinion there is & risk that future deaths will occur unless action is takan, In the circumstances it is my statutory duty t report to yoU, a8 follows_ (1) The nature of the road is such that it is unsafe t0 drive at 70 mph in that The camiageway is very narrow The road is unlit at night The road is not bordared by any kerb or pavement but rather hedgerows and trees Way; drugs
Iv) At Inquest the evidence of a Polico Pursuit Driver and Accldent Collision Invesigator was that they had felt unsafe traversing the road above 50 mph;

On 29i of November 2018 commencad an investigation into the death of Luke Mumford; eged 20. The investigation concluded at the end of the inquest on bhe 15" of February 2017. The conclusion of the inquest was Road Trafic Collision,
Circumstances of the Death
At approxilmately 17.30 on the 231 of November 2016, Luke Mumford was driving his Motor car along Pilgrm's north of Eccles, Kent when he left the carriageway, traversed up & 3 mebre bank; struck a tree and came t0 rest 13 metres turther on in & field. He sustained extensive head injurles from which he died at the scene: He had not consumed any alcohol or and the reason wy he had left the cariageway could not be ascertained: At the point at which Mr Mumford leit the carriageway; Pilgrim's Way Is a dual carageway but more accurately should be described es a narrow single carriageway in each direction separated by & foliage verge It is unlit at nlght and pasces through a rural area and is comparable t0 a country lane: The speed Iimit however is 70 mph.
