Coroner’s Concerns
The evidence at inquest, supported by a site visit by me to the scene, indicated that the view for vehicles joining the A525 at this location from Green Lane is obstructed as to traffic approaching from the Wrexham direction as a result of the hedge which abuts the highway at this point.
Coroner's Office, County Hall, Wynnstay Road, Ruthin, LL15 1YN Tel 01824 708047 | Unless action is taken to improve visibility or to alter the road layout, then there is an ongoing risk that further collisions will occur and that lives may be lost as a result.

Dear Sir Report for the Prevention of Future Deaths Inquest of Michael Howard Williams Fatal Collision on the A525 Green Lane, Hollvbush, Wrexham I refer to your letter dated 16 May 2022 enclosing a copy of your report pursuant to Regulation 28 of the Coroners (Investigations) Regulations 2013 regarding the fatal collision that occurred on the A525, at the junction of Green Lane, Hollybush, Wrexham, on Saturday 13 March 2021 at 12.30 pm, involving a Honda motorcycle and an Audi Q7, resulting in the rider of the motorcycle receiving fatal injuries. I would confirm that we will be cutting the hedge which borders the A525 and the premises of Hollybush House, at this present time the house is in the process of being sold, but we will be speaking to the new owner when they take up occupancy regarding the maintenance of the hedge. It is the intention of the Authority to make a Traffic Regulation Order on Green Lane to make the road one way from the direction of the A525. This will not allow vehicles to exit Green Lane onto the A525, which will avoid vehicles entering the A525 where there is limited visibility. Each occupier of the dwellings along Green Lane have been visited by our Streetscene Supervisor and have been asked if they would support a one way system for Green Lane; there was support for such a scheme. With these measures to be put in place it is hoped it will reduce any further collisions at this location.
