Summary: We found the Council was at fault in reaching its decision Mrs X was an unreasonably persistent complainant. The Council’s decision caused Mrs X distress. To put matters right, the Council agreed to apologise to Mrs X and review its decision.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint that the Council has failed to obtain a copy of a court transcript. This is because proceedings ended three years ago and I see no reason why the complaint couldn’t have been made sooner.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s actions in relation to Mr X’s father’s finances. This is because it is a late complaint and there are no good reasons for us to investigate it now.

Summary: Miss X complains of the Council’s actions following a visit from a social worker which led to a child protection investigation. The Council has accepted fault in relation to a number of Miss X’s complaints. Miss X feels the remedy it has offered is inadequate. The Council has agreed an enhanced financial remedy.

Summary: Miss X complained the Council delayed amending her son, C’s, Education Health and Care plan and failed to provide alternative education after C could not attend school. The Council accepted it was responsible for faults in the EHC review process and delays in providing C with a suitable education. The Council provided a suitable remedy for C’s missed education and the impact on Miss X. However, it failed to provide a remedy for C’s distress. It agreed to apologise to C and fund a suitable gift to recognise the impact on him.
