Education Upheld
Decision date: 24 Sep 2024 · Portsmouth City Council
Subject: Special Educational Needs
Summary: Mrs X complained that the Council failed to provide suitable education to her daughter who was out of school. There was delay in how it responded to Mrs X’s complaints, but this did not cause an injustice which requires further investigation. We have therefore completed our investigation and are closing the complaint.

Housing Other
Decision date: 8 Jul 2024 · Portsmouth City Council
Subject: Homelessness

The Council has agreed to consider an application to the housing register. An investigation by use would achieve nothing more.

Decision date: 29 May 2024 · Portsmouth City Council
Subject: Refuse And Recycling

Decision date: 7 May 2024 · Portsmouth City Council

Portsmouth City Council (22-010-678)
Housing Other
Decision date: 13 Dec 2022 · Portsmouth City Council
Subject: Allocations
Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about Mr X’s housing. There was no fault in the Council closing his housing application. Any failure to offer Mr X a review of that decision is unlikely to have affected the result significantly. We cannot consider the Council’s management of its social housing or housing let on a long lease. Other points do not cause Mr X a significant enough injustice to investigate or have not been through the Council’s complaint procedure.
Portsmouth City Council (22-011-733)

Housing Other

Mr X says the Council’s inaction has enabled a business to continuously expand its business causing increased noise and air pollution. We found fault with the Council for its 14-month delay in reaching a planning application decision. We did not otherwise find fault. The Council agreed to our recommendations to apologise to Mr X and pays him £150 for the distress and frustration this delay caused.
