Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint that the Council has not provided signs warning of a traffic restriction. Ms X has a right of appeal to the London Tribunal, and it would be reasonable for her to use this.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a parking permit refund. This is because there is not enough evidence of fault to justify investigating.

Summary: The Ombudsmen have decided not to investigate Mrs A’s complaint about her mother’s care and support between 2003 and 2018. There is insufficient evidence of serious or continuing injustice and given the time that has passed, investigation is unlikely to achieve more. The Ombudsmen will not investigate more recent complaints because these have not yet been through the complaints procedures with the relevant organisations.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about three penalty charge notices the complainant received for moving traffic contraventions. He has appealed against one and could have appealed against the other two. There is no fault in the Council seeking to recover unpaid penalty charges.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about how the Council has dealt with concerns about Mr X and his family. This is because there is no evidence of fault by the Council.

Summary: We have decided to close the investigation as nothing further can be achieved by further investigating. The Council has offered Ms B an assessment of her needs and offered to provide a support package to her if she has eligible needs. Ms B has declined these offers.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint. This is because there is insufficient fault with how an Occupational Therapy assessment was concluded. We also cannot investigate complaints about councils acting in their capacity as social housing landlords, nor can we investigate the actions of the NHS.

Summary: Mr C complained a retail business he represents did not receive a Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant. We uphold this complaint, finding the Council made a flawed decision to refuse the grant. This caused uncertainty. The Council accepts these findings and will reconsider its decision as part of a series of actions agreed to remedy this injustice, set out in detail at the end of this statement.

Summary: Miss X complained the Council has failed to provide alternative provision for her son, Y, who has been unable to attend school for medical reasons since May 2021. Miss X has had to pay for a private tutor but is unable to continue to fund this. We have discontinued our investigation on the basis the issues complained of are inextricably linked to the matters considered by the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, and are therefore outside our jurisdiction.
