Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about charging for adult social care. The Council has increased the personal budget and will backdate any overpayment. The Council has given a detailed response about requests for disability related expenditure and will consider this further if it receives supporting evidence. We are satisfied with the Council’s actions in response to the complaint and it is unlikely we would add anything further.

Summary: Ms A complained a local authority and NHS organisations failed to provide her with the care she needs over several years. She also complains they failed to adequately adapt the way it assessed her needs. We have not found fault. There is evidence the organisations have tried to adapt to meet Ms A’s needs and have offered a range of services to support her.

Summary: We will not investigate Miss X’s complaint about how the Council dealt with her during its parental investigation. The complaint was submitted late, and there is no good reason to consider it now.

Summary: We have found fault with the Council for the delay in securing alternative provision for Miss Y’s son, C. This resulted in C missing education and special education need provision for one school term. The Council agreed to apologise and make a symbolic payment in recognition of the missed provision.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about a parking penalty charge notice as it is reasonable to expect Mrs X to have appealed against it using the appeal procedure provided in law.

Summary: Mr and Mrs X complained the Council-run recycling centre refused entry to Mr X despite him holding a van permit, failed to provide any support or an alternative solution to dispose of their large household items and poorly handled their case. We ended our investigation into this complaint as we are unlikely to find fault causing a significant injustice. Additionally, we could not add to the Council’s investigation or achieve anything further.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about not removing a sign blocking a path. This is because there is not enough evidence of fault to warrant an investigation.

Summary: We will not investigate Ms X’s complaint about the conduct of a social worker during court proceedings. The law prevents us from investigating what happened in court and there is another body better placed to consider the conduct of social workers.

Summary: Mr X complained the Council did not properly consider the history of gifting when calculating notional capital due to deprivation of assets. There was no fault on this point. There was some delay and failure to pay the correct amount to the care home but this did not cause significant injustice to the family.
