Summary: There was delay in sending a final decision letter on a claim for Council Tax Support which delayed the complainant’s right of appeal to the Valuation Tribunal. The Council has as a result of our investigation issued a new decision that gives a new right of appeal and put enforcement action on hold. This remedies the injustice caused by the loss of appeal.

Summary: We will not investigate Mrs X’s complaint about how the Council has considered whether damage to her property has been caused by its contractor’s coastal works.

Summary: We will not investigate this complaint about the Council’s decision not to use Section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to address the poor state of a garden at a property close to Mr X’s home. This is because we are unlikely to find evidence of fault by the Council sufficient to warrant an investigation.

Summary: Mrs X complained about how the Council dealt with the disabled facilities grant works at her property. She also complained the Council initially refused and then delayed providing her family with temporary accommodation to cover the period the adaptation work was scheduled for. There were some faults by the Council in how it dealt with the temporary accommodation matter. The Council will take action to remedy the injustice caused.
