The government should also commit to regularly reviewing and updating the nutrient profile model so that we do not go another 22 years, or more, between updates. Reviewing and implementing an updated nutrient profiling model on a 10-year cycle would strike a sensible balance between reflecting evolving scientific advice and providing certainty to industry.
