The government should introduce mandatory front-of-pack labelling by January 2028. While we acknowledge that the traffic light approach is not perfect, we nevertheless recommend using the pre-existing label as its template as this is familiar to consumers and widely used by manufacturers in the market, so should cause the least disruption to businesses and support swift implementation.
