Do not accept. For the reasons stated in our response to recommendation 17, we do not accept this recommendation. However, as previously mentioned in that response, and as per our response to recommendation 15, we are introducing methods to further promote continuity of care in general practice to help ensure more patients can benefit from it when appropriate. We are further embedding continuity of care through the 2023/24 GP contract. It will promote the use of the Royal College of GP’s Continuity of Care toolkit via the Quality and Outcomes Framework Quality Improvement module on Optimising Demand and Capacity management in general practice.
