Government notes the Committee’s conclusion that a future NPS should accommodate proposals from a more diverse range of reactor technologies and include technology-specific criteria. We remain committed to updating the nuclear planning framework regularly to ensure it remains fit for purpose and evolves with technology development. Government is open to exploring opportunities for technology-specific criteria and will continue to engage with industry, regulators and independent experts as we develop future siting policy.
