We recommend that the Government set out, either in the Bill or in secondary legislation to be published alongside it, how the regime will certify individual products, as opposed to product families, and take account of products with more than one application.

The Government is grateful to the Committee for recognising the importance of how construction products are effectively regulated. The Government considers, however, that the regulatory system for products does recognize that any single construction product may have multiple applications.
