We agree with the government that some degree of temporary accommodation will always be needed as a safety net and that this accommodation must provide households who need it with a decent, safe and stable place to live while they find a more permanent home. It is critical that the steps councils are taking to increase the supply are informed by, and consistent with, a more long-term strategy, locally and nationally. (Conclusion, Paragraph 99)
