The government must ensure that the private rented sector database provides a useful tool to educate and better inform landlords about their role and responsibilities and encourage them to adopt more professional practices. The database must include information and guidance to landlords on their responsibilities. Over time, the database should be adapted to notify landlords of the introduction of new standards and steps they can take to comply. (Recommendation, Paragraph 95)
