The government must conduct and publish a full assessment of the resources and powers currently available to local authorities to regulate and enforce standards in the private rented sector, including the new duties placed on local authorities under the Renters Rights Act. The assessment should consider the resources that will be necessary to allow local authorities to adopt a more proactive approach to regulating standards. (Recommendation, Paragraph 114)
