HM Government
Acknowledged
The ONS remains committed to the Analysis Function (AF), and as such accepts the principle of this recommendation and is grateful for the Committee’s concern about its future funding model. We believe that funding for a dedicated central AF team is essential to ensure that analysts across the Civil Service have the support they need to deliver better outcomes for the public by providing the best analysis to inform decision making. Therefore, the AF Central Team (AFCT) will work with HM Treasury to assess the best option for future funding. As Head of the AF, I will work with Chief Analysts across government to ensure the profile of the Function continues to be raised.
