The publication of the Space Industry Regulations in July 2021 was a vital step that set out the licensing processes for launch activities, including establishing the Civil Aviation Authority as the regulator. The Civil Aviation Authority, with the support of the Department for Transport and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, should continue to take guidance from other authorities such as the Federal Aviation Authority on how to best operate the licensing process.
