Should our successor Committee wish to examine the UK’s telecommunications infrastructure and domestic capability, we recommend it considers: • The implementation of the 5G Supply Chain Diversification Strategy, and relevant policy and technical developments since the then Committee’s report; • Examining the Government’s participation in international standards bodies for critical and emerging technologies; or • The rollout and uptake of 5G technology in UK infrastructure, and what lessons are being learned for future developments, i.e. the emergence of 6G.
