The youth justice system in Wales is evidently an example of strong partnership working between two governments who are focused on securing the best possible outcomes for children in Wales, and who wish to see children diverted away from the secure estate wherever possible. We welcome the recent reforms to the youth justice system that will see greater use of multi-year funding settlements, providing certainty for youth justice services for the future, as well as the commitment to identify an expanded role for the Welsh Government in the delivery of these services.
