For too many disabled people, the workplace remains a hostile environment.
Conclusion
For too many disabled people, the workplace remains a hostile environment. This manifests itself in two main ways: a reluctance among employers to make reasonable adjustments, and inaccessible workplaces and practices that leave disabled people unnecessarily reliant on reasonable adjustments in the first place. If the government is serious about reducing disability- related economic inactivity and reducing the rate at which welfare spending is increasing, it must urgently address both these issues.
