We welcome the Minister’s statement that it is possible to take both fiscal constraints and the consequences of State Pension age increases seriously. We acknowledge that he takes responsibility for the increase to 67, a policy he inherited, and which is happening now. Also welcome is the government’s emphasis on balancing fairness and sustainability in the terms of reference for the third independent State Pension age review. (Conclusion, Paragraph 48)
