We acknowledge government initiatives to address these challenges, including the Mayfield Review.
Conclusion
We acknowledge government initiatives to address these challenges, including the Mayfield Review. However, as the Second Pensions Commission concluded, success will require a concerted effort across government and industry. We welcome the Minister for Pensions’ recognition that a cross- government approach is needed. This will take time and come too late for many affected by the rise in State Pension age to 67. Furthermore, to be effective in improving work and retirement outcomes, such interventions probably need to reach people in their fifties. (Conclusion, Paragraph 72)
