Conclusion
We asked the Department if it expected to replace all seven RAAC hospitals on time, or if some of the RAAC hospitals were facing timetable pressures, as reported by the National Audit Office. The Department told us that it did not take lightly the risk RAAC hospitals present, and understood the need to replace the RAAC hospitals as soon as it possibly could. It currently felt that these hospital schemes were on track – the trusts were currently working through key stages of their respective business cases and were still due to start construction on the dates in the implementation plan.24
