Conclusion
Since 2014, there has been a statutory requirement that most public law cases should be completed within 26 weeks, but this statutory deadline has never been met.16 There is no equivalent statutory timeline for private law. For 2024–25, four of the five priority indicators set by the FJB on improving timeliness for family courts have not been met.
