We are concerned that so few local strategies were agreed and published, and at evidence which calls into question the varying ability of local institutional structures to take forward industrial policymaking. Regardless of whether the specific Local Industrial Strategy model is continued, Government should consider the lessons that can be learnt from their rollout to support future local industrial policymaking.
