The Summit was an important milestone towards a new Strategic Partnership with the EU, where the UK and EU committed to support travel and cultural exchange, including the activities of touring artists. We will continue to engage with EU and Member States to determine how best to improve arrangements for touring across the European continent with the EU and EU Member States. We have agreed to annual summits and will continue to build on the foundations agreed on 19 May. To support this approach, we will also work with music and arts industry stakeholders, trade bodies and organisations to engage their European counterparts and demonstrate the value of UK touring professionals operating in the EU. Improving the arrangements for artists and cultural workers across the EU is mutually beneficial. It will help UK artists to contribute to Europe’s rich cultural landscape, and support shared growth.
