Conclusion
There is a lack of transparency and accountability around current funding arrangements for PE and school sport. While the PE and Sport Premium has provided valuable, ring‑fenced support for primary schools, inconsistent assessment, limited benchmarking and weak scrutiny by Ofsted mean that funding is not always used effectively or as intended. The fact that the Government could not provide us with further information about wider departmental contributions further highlights the need for greater clarity and oversight. (Conclusion, Paragraph 28)
