The Government should advocate for the US and Australia to follow the UK in appointing their own Special Representative (or an equivalent role). Consideration should also be given to establishing a joint secretariat to support them. (Recommendation, Paragraph 39)

The Government welcomes effective and trusted working relationships across the US and Australian systems on AUKUS. The US and Australia will continue to determine the national governance structures most appropriate for AUKUS within their respective systems. The Government will continue to work with, and through, existing bilateral and trilateral structures with the US and Australia to drive delivery and ensure the long-term strength of the AUKUS partnership.
