PARTIALLY ACCEPT The Government recognises the significant mental health impacts associated with historic forced adoption practices. We will work with NHS England and DHSC to strengthen access to trauma- informed care through existing NHS pathways by: • Co-producing bespoke materials with people affected, to support individuals in accessing healthcare and to support clinicians in providing appropriate care. • Improving awareness among clinicians, including across general practice, NHS 111, and therapy pathways, of the experiences and impacts of forced adoption. • Improving signposting to appropriate support and services. This will help ensure that those affected are able to access the full range of NHS support available to them, including mental and physical health services, in a way that better understands and reflects their experiences.
