The Department must ensure that all Best Start Family Hubs are embedding reading for pleasure into their work by offering sessions and advice for parents and carers as well as training for practitioners and support to early years settings on good practice. Every Hub should have a designated Reading for Pleasure lead who is responsible and resourced for designing and leading this work which should include automatic book gifting and guided sessions for parents and carers.
