Recommendation
Ofsted should publish data on HMIs’ and contracted Ofsted inspectors’ expertise regarding phase of education and subject, and the proportion of inspections led by at least one inspector with the relevant phase expertise.

We are also working on a number of new policies and practices. These include: developing further the existing pen portraits of inspectors to describe the expertise within our workforce (in line with Recommendation 9 in the Committee's report). We have already taken action in respect of a number of the Committee’s recommendations (Recommendations 2, 9, 15, 17 and 27).
