Statutory public inquiry into group-based child sexual abuse and exploitation in Scotland. Chaired by Professor Alexis Jay (former chair of IICSA and author of the Rotherham CSE report). Announced 25 February 2026 by Education Secretary Jenny Gilruth. Will have full investigatory powers. Focuses specifically on group-based abuse and exploitation (distinct from the broader Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry). A Truth Project will also be established for victims and survivors. Separate from the England and Wales Grooming Gangs Inquiry chaired by Baroness Longfield.
