Introduce emergency signal override in signal boxes and update immobilised train procedures
Recommendation
BR shall introduce into all signal boxes the facility to switch all automatic signals to red in an emergency, and BR shall review and update where necessary its procedures to protect rail traffic in the vicinity of immobilised trains.
