Establish senior officer liaison with police for child abuse investigations
Recommendation
Whenever a police investigation follows upon a complaint of abuse of a looked after child, the senior officer referred to in recommendation (18) or another senior officer assigned for the specific purpose should establish and maintain close liaison with the senior investigating officer appointed by the police for that investigation and the local authority's officer should be kept informed of the progress of the investigation.
