Mr X complained about the Council’s handling of his complaint concerning Council tax liability. He said that it had not been considered under the Council’s formal complaints policy.
The Ombudsman found that the Council had not considered the complaint under its complaints policy. He sought and gained the Council’s agreement to do so and to respond to Mr X accordingly.
