Mr A complained that Cardiff and Vale University Health Board failed to fully address and respond to his complaint, which he submitted in August 2025, regarding cardiac services.

The Ombudsman found that the Health Board had failed to issue a complaint response. She said this caused frustration and uncertainty to Mr A and decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to apologise and provide an explanation to Mr A for the delay and issue the full complaint response within 4 weeks.
