The Government should work with regulators, devolved administrations, local authorities, industry leaders, and others to streamline planning and environmental requirements wherever possible. The Office for Nuclear Regulation should look for opportunities to run the Development Consent Orders and the GDA in parallel for experienced vendors who have already successfully completed the GDA with other reactor designs or who have reactor technology that has been approved by other regulators.
