The government should explain how it will take a holistic approach to assessing the impact of State Pension age increases in future. This should include its plans to: 66 • take into account the views of pensioners; • consult the Chief Medical Advisor on health impacts; • invest in more granular, accurate cohort data on life expectancy; • estimate the likely increase in poverty rates in time to take action to mitigate this before the increase happens.
