We have seen evidence that children in need, a group that includes children in care and disabled children, are four times more likely to die due to deliberately inflicted injury, abuse or neglect than children without any social care involvement. While we acknowledge that Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services are facing unprecedented strain, this reality is profoundly alarming and urgent action is required.
