Recommendation
We heard first-hand testimony about the difference that the Archway Hub has made in the lives of care leavers in Leeds. The government should consider working with local authorities to expand Care Leaver Services across England, so that care leavers in other areas can receive support to a similar standard as the support provided by the Archway Hub. The provision of specialist services and support, which could include mentoring schemes, leisure activities, and courses for developing skills, could help tackle considerable issues for care leavers, such as unemployment and lack of access to further education.
