6.1 The government agrees with the Committee’s recommendation. Recommendation implemented 6.2 The Nature Restoration Fund (NRF) Implementation Plan, published on 18 December 2025, set out the approach to delivering the NRF, including plans for reporting on progress. 6.3 Natural England is required to publish organisational annual reports, which will provide a high-level view of NRF progress including the amount of money received and spent under each Environmental Delivery Plans (EDPs). The government will also continue to provide updates on key developments as delivery progresses and has committed to report back to Parliament on the first nutrient pollution EDPs before any other EDPs are published. 6.4 In addition to updates on the overall progress of the NRF, there will be regular reporting on individual EDPs, the key mechanism for implementing the NRF. This includes Defra’s commitment to report to Parliament on lessons learned from the first group of EDPs before progressing to the next stage as well as reports published at the mid-point and end-point of an EDP.
