In response to the 2018 McCloud judgement, the Government created the ‘Remedy’ programme to implement remedies to all affected members across the public sector. Applying remedies to affected civil service members requires MyCSP to send Remedial Service Statements (RSSs) to those members, presenting them with two pension options, essentially either calculated under the old legacy scheme rules or the newer arrangements that have been in place since 2015. More than 400,000 Scheme members are affected by Remedy and need to make a choice as to their preferred option. Around 130,000 of these members are currently drawing their pensions.
