The Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government must commit to restoring the funding for public libraries that has been lost since 2010 by the end of this Parliament. They should also establish a ‘library sufficiency standard’ for local authorities and work with local authorities to fill gaps in provision, including through partnership working with community organisations and universities and colleges.
