Recommendation
The Inquiry Panel recommends that media awareness be an integral part of training given to newly promoted sergeants and inspectors. We do not see this as something which requires a full training package but rather can be incorporated into supervisor training.
Context
The recommendations chapter was prepared in 2011. The report states that no further evidence for this chapter was received after 2011 and that some recommendations may have been overtaken by the time of publication in September 2026. Implementation has not been assessed by this import.
