Recommendation
The Inquiry Panel recommends that the PSNI identifies any necessary additional training for officers in relation to the gathering of evidence and preparation of statements. This could be done through officers’ personal development plans and quality control checks.
Context
The recommendations chapter was prepared in 2011. The report states that no further evidence for this chapter was received after 2011 and that some recommendations may have been overtaken by the time of publication in September 2026. Implementation has not been assessed by this import.
