How I considered this complaint
I considered information provided by the complainant.
I considered the Ombudsman’s Assessment Code.
My assessment
Mr X complains the Council withheld information from court which affected the outcome of the court case.
The Council told Mr X it could not consider his complaint because it was about matters that had been considered and decided during recent court proceedings. It explained it could not investigate or overturn the court’s decisions.
We cannot investigate Mr X’s complaint because it lies outside our jurisdiction. The law prevents us from investigating complaints about matters that have been considered by a court or as part of court proceedings.
Final decision
We cannot investigate Mr X’s complaint because it lies outside our jurisdiction. We cannot investigate complaints about what happened in court.
