Ms A complained that Powys County Council had not concluded its deliberations on outstanding matters relating to an area of land next to her property that was deemed to be a highway, as outlined in its Stage 2 complaint response from November 2023.
The Ombudsman decided that Council had not concluded deliberations or updated Ms A in an appropriate timeframe. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement that within 2 weeks it would send a written apology to Ms A for the length of time she had been waiting for the action to be taken and within 8 weeks it would conclude deliberations on the outstanding matters and notify the respective parties, as outlined in the Stage 2 complaint response
