Miss A complained that Ceredigion County Council had failed to respond to her request for her concerns to be considered as a formal complaint.
The Ombudsman found that the Council had overlooked Miss A’s request for the matter to be considered as a formal complaint. The Ombudsman said this caused uncertainty for Miss A and decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.
The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to, within 3 weeks, offer an apology and explanation for the oversight and issue its complaint response
