The government agrees with the Committee’s recommendation. Target implementation date: April 2021 The department is currently developing a data collection system for external wall systems for residential buildings 11-18 metres high. This new system, currently being developed in conjunction with local authorities and other stakeholders, will capture key data on residential buildings, including information on the height of buildings, whether they have unsafe cladding and the type of tenure. The department expects to start collecting this data in early 2021. The department also collects information from local authorities about how many local authority-owned social sector residential buildings have unsafe ACM cladding, and how many of these have been remediated.
