The government agrees to maintain HCSEC for Huawei equipment for as long as it remains in UK networks. For other vendors, it will introduce a new security framework via the Telecommunications (Security) Bill and create a national facility for research and testing, but an HCSEC-like model may not be appropriate.

The government rejects providing compensation to operators, stating providers are responsible for security costs. However, it will consult on changes to the Electronic Communications Code for easier site access and is progressing initiatives for public sector land access to minimise deployment barriers.
